I have some immediate questions on an interesting project - this
is an
online dating ASP that is being built using affiliate marketing -
among
other methods.
One: Could any of you recommend a '3rd party' payment processing
provider
for a US client that wishes to launch an online dating provider ASP
(application service provider)? (They do not want to invest in a
merchant
account at this point.) We are considering the likesof ibill,
clickbank,
e-transfer et al. Perhaps the following might enable you to
recommend one
that fits:
Background: Participating sites in this dating network will be able to
create a custom 'private labeled' dating area on their site using the
software, in less than 15 minutes. The service has excellent features
(database profiling, voice/video support for member profiles,
custom chat,
disc forum and e-mail, and so on) and will cost under $20 a
month. It will
be marketed via an affiliate program.
Basically, we are looking for 'agent' sites to send members (existing
community) to an order processing form (including 'thank you'
page), which
will be hosted on the payment processing provider's server.
Two: I would also be grateful if the list might comment on the
online dating
industry and this type of ASP business. Is the timing right?
Three: Perhaps more significantly, how do we differentiate
ourselves from
all the dating networks out there - using 100% online techniques?
We are
looking to use direct e-mail to sites that meet our criteria
(over 1 million
registered community) followed by an affiliate program promoted on the
webmaster communities.
Fyi, the client has not set aside a budget for offline marketing
in the US -
at least not initially.
