I don't think they're effective in tracking screen-rez images. I assume that if I hit the "print screen" button on my keyboard and then "paste" into a graphics program, I have aquired whatever is on the screen without a watermark of any kind, no? Or copy a picture and paste it onto a fresh "canvas"?
