Our internet provider has a stats package that comes free with the
hosting charge. But it is often out of order.
www.counter.com has a free counter service that we use too...one of
the best freebies on the web. It's not just a counter; it provides all
sorts of other info about site visitors. I learned about Counter.com
from reading this board!
Note that none of these actually gives the address of the visitor, but
they do provide the url of his internet provider.
Sign up for counter.com (it takes about 5 minutes) and paste their code
into your page and you'll see what I'm talking about. I find their
counter to be very unobtrusive and it usually doesnt slow down the
page loading. Also you can make the counter either visible on your page,
or clear so visitors to your site can't follow your hit rate.
