Bandwidth factor of affiliate programs From Tim on 16 April '01 Hello, An affiliate program sounds good: you pay someone else 15% for selling your product. You still make a profit of 85%. But the average banner is a bit more than 10k and 1000 banners equals 1 GB. Hosting companies usually charge $3 per GB data transfer. Add to this the cost of the server, software, staff etc. and 1000 banners will cost a company $5 You need a great product to make at least $5 per 1000 ad impressions. Am I correct or am I missing something? Thanks, Tim
