The shortfall in referrals might be for that particular site; I see some site logs where ODP is exceeding Yahoo for referrals. (No, not just the ones Yahoo refused to list!) Dunno about the searches working differently, but I suspect many people on this board would be interested in any conclusions you come to. Loathe though I am to think about it, it is possible ODP is headed into The Stupidity Vortex that has claimed so many other SEs, and their relevance will eventually go to hell in a handbasket. The tech people who started it don't seem too happy under Netscape's high-bureaucracy low-trust stewardship; I suspect some will bail out soon, if they haven't already.
