I was also going to suggest an E-mail Newsletter. It seems like you already have a lot of people who you can invite to join it (everyone who signed your guestbook).

You can then use your newsletter to notify people of improvements to the site, announcements, etc. Just be sure you provide useful information to your members. Here is a great site for getting started:
