Spiders do not read script - they skip over it.

Actually - you should avoid the use of symbols. Use the words
instead, and many engines (such as google) flat out ignore
description tags, place the content in your text if you want it
included.

Why would you want your trademark for indexing? Spiders take the
content from the page, concentrate on keyphrases and not
trademark info (unless that is your keyphrase) and use words not
symbols - ppl don't search symbols ;)
