Do search engines read GIFs? From Candace on 23 March '99 I've heard that search engines cannot read GIFs. Is this true? Our company is in the process of building our website. The home page is comprised primarily of GIFs. Thus I am in the process of creating title, keyword, and description tags. But if a search engine does not read metatags, and the content of our pages are primarily GIFs, what sort of interpretation will search engines make?
